The Pen
As a service based industry, the teachers and staff of the DSBN’s 98 elementary and secondary schools are critical to the success of the organization. The service they provide to students and parents forms the basis of how the Board is spoken about in the community. Positive interactions have the ability to reinforce and amplify marketing messages, whereas negative impressions will undermine efforts to construct a positive reputation of the DSBN and its schools. Prior to the beginning of each school year, my department liaises with the Director’s office to engage in internal marketing to staff. Created as the theme for the 2014-2015 school year, this video reinforced the Board’s values and individualized approach to supporting students. The video was shown initially to a large meeting of system leadership (approximately 250 people). It was then shown at every school’s first staff meeting and school council meeting of the year. Produced in house with voiceover provided by myself.
