COVID-19
Recorded in March 2020, three days after the Ministry of Education announced they were closing schools for two weeks. At that time, there was very little known about the impacts of COVID-19 and many parents were fearful during this time.
Despite ever-changing information and protocols, it was important to participate in media interviews as a way to share information with parents and community partners in addition to the existing communication methods of dedicated website, emails, and social media updates.
OSSTF Impending Walkout
Media interview with CKTB 610 about an impending walkout with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) a union for secondary teachers at publicly-funded secondary schools in Ontario.
Throughout the fall and into 2020, members of ETFO and OSSTF held rolling walk-outs across the province leaving families were very frustrated. This interview was an opportunity to provide the community and families with breaking information, as well, approach a complex topic with a positive tone.
